The Webinar on WASH for the prevention of COVID-19, which will take place on Wednesday, 8 April 2020 from 11:00-12:30 (Central European Summer Time).
The Webinar addresses WASH, environment and health professionals who are involved in guiding COVID-19 response from water, sanitation and hygiene perspectives. It aims at disseminating key messages of available guidance, but also providing a platform for countries to connect and exchange in this field. Concretely, we aim to offer the following:
- Summary of key messages from the WHO/UNICEF Technical brief on water, sanitation, hygiene and waste management for the prevention of COVID-19 (available here);
- Summary of key messages from WHO interim recommendations to improve hand hygiene practices widely to help prevent the transmission of the COVID-19 virus (available here);
- Country case examples: Sharing of experiences from ongoing activities in Italy, the Netherlands and Serbia;
- Questions and answers, including formulation of further needs related to WASH preparedness and response for COVID-19.
